Concrete Bird Bath Statue Classical Goddess 25 Inch
Concrete Bird Bath Statue Classical Goddess 25 Inch
BIRD BATH STATUE
Half Woman, Half Tree
The face and shoulders are human. Below that, vines climb, and by the waist you cannot tell body from trunk. At the foot it becomes roots gripping the ground.
This is Daphne, the nymph who turned into a laurel to escape Apollo. The sculpture catches the transformation partway through rather than after it.
So she is not standing on a column. She is the column. The basin sits above her head and the roots are the base. Nothing here lifts off to become an ornament on its own.
What Makes This Bird Bath Different
- The figure carries the basin. Most statue bird baths set a small figure beside a plain column and the eye reads two separate objects. Here the body is the structure and the roots are the base, so it is one continuous form with no joint to notice.
- A transformation, not a pose. Human above, timber below, roots at the foot. Something in progress holds attention far longer than a figure standing still, and it is the piece visitors ask about.
- Keep the water shallow. Add a shallow layer of water and keep it below the rim. Refresh it regularly.
- One color throughout, which is necessary. A pale figure against a brown trunk would break the transformation. Gray brown across the whole piece lets the two read as one continuous process.
A figure needs a background to read against, so a hedge, a wall or dense planting works better than the middle of a lawn where you see the back of it half the time. 25 inches puts the basin at a height most species treat as safe. Leave two or three feet of open ground and keep a shrub within a short flight for cover.

Setup, Care, and Warranty
Setup and placement
Two pieces, no tools. The basin seats onto the figure.
Give it a background. A hedge, a wall or dense planting behind it keeps the silhouette readable.
Filling it
Add a shallow layer of water and keep it below the rim. Check the water daily and refresh it whenever it is dirty or low.
Keeping the detail crisp
The drapery folds and root recesses hold shadow, which is what makes the figure read as carved stone. A soft brush every couple of weeks keeps them clear.
Winter
Drain the basin before the first hard frost and leave it empty or lifted off. Sealed concrete comes through freeze and thaw well when dry.
3-year warranty
This product includes a 3-year warranty against cracking. Coverage, claim requirements and required documents are subject to the warranty policy that applies at the time of purchase. Keep your order confirmation and contact customer support with your order details if service is needed.
Questions Before You Choose
Who is the figure?
Daphne, from Ovid. She asked to be turned into a laurel tree to escape Apollo, and the sculpture catches her partway through the change.
Is the statue separate from the pedestal?
No. The body is the column and the roots are the base. It is a single form rather than a figure standing next to a bowl.
Where does it belong?
Against a hedge, a wall or dense planting, in a formal bed, or at the end of a path. It wants a background rather than open space on all sides.
Will birds actually use it?
Add a shallow layer of water and keep it below the rim. Check the water daily and refresh it whenever it is dirty or low.
